NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF PLASTIC

Plastic can have many negative effects on our health. Here are some of the ways that this can happen.

  • Chemical leaching:

Many plastics contain harmful chemicals such as BPA, phthalates, and PVC that can get into your food, water, and air. These chemicals can disrupt our hormones, damage our reproductive system  and cause developmental problems.

  • Micro plastic:

Tiny particles of plastic, known as microplastics, are found in our food, water and even the air we breathe. These particles can enter the body and accumulate in organs, causing  inflammation and other health problems. Environmental pollution:

The production, use and disposal of plastics can cause environmental pollution and indirectly affect our health. For example, plastic pollution in the ocean can harm marine life, destroy  ecosystems, and contaminate the seafood we consume.

  • Plastic waste management:

Improper disposal of plastic waste, such as burning or landfilling, can release toxic chemicals and pollutants into the environment, which can harm human health.

In summary, plastic can have a variety of negative effects on our health, and reducing our dependence on plastic and properly disposing of plastic waste can help mitigate these effects
